How Feng Shui & Crafting Intersect
Art has always been seen as the great communicator, a means of utilizing the creative flow and the act of making art to take an introspective look at one’s emotions, internal conflicts of the past or present and allowing the art medium to become one’s soundboard.
Using any form of art, someone can work through strong feelings, become more expressive and find peace of mind on the other side. But not only that, it’s a wonderful means of exploring the self and can cultivate increased self-awareness. Dreamers and visionaries have often used art to express what could be, igniting change in others for the future.
I know you’re asking yourself, “Lia…What the heck does this have to do with Feng Shui?”
Well, let me tell you! Using art as a form of self-awareness is a wonderful way to connect with yourself.
Here’s a great exercise to assist with creating the vision of your future self:
Grab some magazines and scour the internet for images of people, places and things you feel drawn to. Include any and all that inspire you, show where you desire to go or depict someone who has already achieved what it is you aim to accomplish.
Cut out the images and glue them down to a square piece of poster board or paper.
Now, dress it up! Love glitz and glam? Then, bedazzle the crap out of it! Use rhinestones, stickers, ribbon, glitter, you name it! Are you more inspired by nature? Use some feathers, dried flowers or colorful leaves. Feel like painting the blank spaces? Go right ahead!
Keep this somewhere you’ll see it each morning to continue to foster the dream.
Use this intentional practice to get out of your head and into action. While dreaming is your source of inspiration, small action steps are what’ll make your dream a reality.
