Insight for continued success through this Spring Equinox and beyond.
You’ve probably been seeing, hearing and smelling all the signs of spring - birds chirping, flowers in bloom, fuzzy orange caterpillars and mesmerizing little green worms suspended in mid-air by a glistening thread of silk.
For those of us living in the northern hemisphere, the Spring Equinox occurred this past Sunday. With that, I think it’s time for some trivia - Jeopardy-style (RIP, Alex)!
The Sun is exactly above the equator during which time of year?
What are the equinoxes?!
Nerd alert: Equinoxes happen in both March and September and result in equal lengths of day and night. We’ve left behind the wintery vibes and have ushered in the energy of new beginnings. In feng shui, spring is associated with wood energy and the color green. This is a wonderful time for energetically decluttering and cleaning your home or office. Go big and tackle that closet you’ve been neglecting or start by simply purging and organizing files on your computer! How do you energetically clean your home? With intention, of course!
Feng Shui teaches us that cleaning is more than just the necessary action of “tidying up”. It’s a means of raising the energy in your space, releasing what no longer serves you and calling in what does!
Here are some helpful tips:
Start small, even if it’s just one drawer.
Set aside a bite-size amount of time to work. Instead of driving yourself nuts trying to clear out clutter for hours, set aside a manageable amount of time, whether it’s a whole hour or even just 9 minutes.
Clean with intention! What are you ready to let go of?
Sit back, relax and enjoy!
Once you’ve moved out unneeded items, open windows and doors and let the spring air waft through your home. Imagine the breeze is gently guiding out past energies. Then, try a refreshing floor wash using natural products. Try this non-toxic all-purpose cleaner made with essential oils powered by Mother Nature!
Try adding green to your family gua or primary bedroom to bring in the energy of spring! This can be done with a plant (like this perfect fiddle leaf fig plant!) or with a stone like green aventurine.
