How to Uplift a Space with Plant Energy

You can take any space from drab to fab with just a few plants.
And, no - a green thumb isn’t necessary!

Being a self-professed plant killer means I’ve never had them around my home. Plus, my cat considers any type of leaf a fine delicacy. When I decided to incorporate plants into my designs, something miraculous happened…I ended up LOVING them!

Here’s why:

  • According to researchers at the National Institutes of Health, the autonomic nervous systems of 24 adults were measured during activities involving electronics and then those involving indoor plants. After transplanting the indoor plant, the subjects experienced “feelings of comfort, soothed and natural” versus “feeling uncomfortable, awakened and artificial” after working with a computer. Not only that, but the subjects’ diastolic blood pressure dropped 24 points after having worked with the plant!

  • Today, we spend the majority of our time indoors. But, our bodies are innately in sync with nature. Plants aid in keeping us grounded, balanced and in tune with Mother Earth’s natural rhythms while also uplifting our spirits and surroundings.

  • Some studies have shown that plants can improve the quality of indoor air and even assist with allergy relief. No more watery eyes here!

  • Mycobacterium vaccae is a family of bacteria that lives naturally in soil. Brilliantly enough, it also stimulates the release of serotonin! Feeling a little blue? Go repot that ficus you have in the corner!

Plants and flowers alike are key components in the Feng Shui of your home, office…just about anywhere!
